Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get my car coated before or after Paint Protection Film is installed?
We always recommend installing Paint Protection Film first, followed by Ceramic Coating.
PPF is designed to physically protect your paint from stone chips, scratches, and road debris. Once the film is installed, a Ceramic Coating can then be applied over the film and exposed painted surfaces to enhance gloss, hydrophobic properties, and ease of maintenance.
This ensures maximum durability and the best overall finish.
How long does it take to complete the job?
Completion times vary depending on the size of the vehicle and the services being performed.
As a general guide:
Front End/Track Pack PPF: 2-3 days
Full Vehicle PPF: 4–5 days
Vinyl Wraps: 3–5 days
Ceramic Coating: 1–2 days
Window Tinting: Same day
We never rush our work, quality and attention to detail are our priority. Our team will provide an estimated completion time when booking your vehicle. We will delay the delivery of the vehicle if it does not meet our standards, due to panels needing replacement PPF. We will notify you should we require more time.
What brand do you use and what’s the warranty?
We use premium industry leading films and coatings, including Inozetek, Magnum and other trusted professional grade products.
Warranty coverage varies depending on the product selected, but most of our premium films include manufacturer backed warranties covering issues such as yellowing, cracking, bubbling, and delamination.
We’ll explain all available options and warranty coverage during your consultation so you can choose the best solution for your vehicle.
Where are you located?

What’s the difference between Vinyl and PPF?
Vinyl Wrap is primarily designed for styling and colour changes. It allows you to completely transform the appearance of your vehicle with a huge range of colours and finishes.
Paint Protection Film (PPF), on the other hand, is a thick protective film designed to protect your paint from stone chips, scratches, swirl marks, and road debris. PPF can come in clear or coloured options.
In simple terms:
Vinyl = Cosmetic Upgrade Only.
PPF = Protection & Appearance.
But also remember that PPF is not Perfection, its Protection, there are limitations to PPF as to what it can or cant cover. Our team is more than happy to go through the car with you and set the expectations upfront.
What’s the difference between Ceramic Coating and PPF?
Ceramic Coating is a liquid protective layer that enhances gloss and makes the vehicle easier to clean by adding hydrophobic properties.
PPF is a physical film that protects against impact damage such as stone chips and scratches.
In simple terms, ceramic coating is like sunscreen you put on your skin and PPF is like a screen protector you have on your phone.
Ceramic Coating helps with:
- Easier cleaning
- Water beading
- Gloss enhancement
- UV resistance
PPF helps with:
- Stone chip protection
- Scratch resistance
- Self-healing properties
- Physical impact protection
For maximum protection, many customers choose both.
When is the best time to get PPF?
The best time to install PPF is when the vehicle is brand new or as early as possible.
Installing protection early helps preserve the original paint condition before damage, stone chips, or swirl marks occur. However, PPF can still be applied to used vehicles after proper paint correction and preparation.
Is my paint going to be damaged when the film is removed?
When professionally installed and removed correctly, high-quality PPF should not damage factory paint.
Our team uses professional removal techniques and premium films designed for safe removal. In most cases, the paint underneath remains in excellent condition because it has been protected from daily wear and tear.
Please note that previously repainted or poorly repaired panels may carry a higher risk during removal due to the condition of the underlying paintwork.
What is the difference between Template and Bulk installations?
Template installations use software cut patterns designed specifically for your vehicle model. This method reduces the need for cutting on the vehicle itself and speeds up the installation time.
Bulk installations involve hand cutting and custom fitting the film directly on the vehicle for maximum edge coverage and a more tailored finish.
At REIN Garage, we select the most suitable method depending on the vehicle, film type, and desired finish to ensure the best possible result.
Can I get a courtesy car?
Yes — we offer courtesy vehicles, subject to availability.
Please let our team know in advance if you require one so we can organise it for you.
Terms and conditions may apply.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, we require a 30% deposit to secure your booking.
